Our workplace law team is hiring!

30 AUG 2024 Careers

The role

As a result of our growing client base, we are searching for a senior lawyer with employment and industrial relations experience to work alongside our workplace team. While predominately focussed on proactive employment advisory work, the role will also provide exposure to a wide range of workplace and industrial law matters, such as employment due diligence, employment termination litigation, restraint of trade, independent contracting arrangements, enterprise bargaining and award interpretation. Our workplace team is well known for their capacity to advise on complex and niche problems, particularly where workplace law intersects with other areas of legal advice disputation, such as corporate law, commercial and IP.

Requirements

We are looking for a senior associate level or above lawyer with a minimum of four years post-admission experience, preferably in employment or industrial relations. Specifically, we are looking for a lawyer possessing the following attributes:

  • foundational knowledge of employment and industrial relations
  • intellectual and legal curiosity
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • independent thinker, and
  • a positive and hard-working nature.

You will also have a willingness to work as part of a small team of experienced lawyers who enjoy challenging the status quo in terms of how workplace law is practised.

This role could present an opportunity for a lawyer with previous exposure to employment and industrial law via a general commercial litigation or advisory role who has a genuine interest in specialising in workplace law.

For this role, we will only be considering applications from those who hold an unrestricted practising certificate to practice law in Australia.

If you have this kind of background and are looking to take the next step in your legal career, we’d be very keen to hear from you.

Why us?

We are a true boutique corporate focussed law firm. Working as part of a small, close knit and supportive team, you will have direct exposure to interesting and quality work for a great portfolio of clients that energise us and are enjoyable to work with.

For the right candidate, this role represents a great opportunity to develop their own client following and progress their career to the next level.

Acknowledging that a career in law can at times be demanding, in addition to a competitive remuneration package, we offer all our staff reasonable additional annual leave above the statutory four weeks to pursue interests outside of law. We also offer a flexible working environment where we come together in the office for learning and collaboration, not mere presentism.
